As an author and an illustrator I want to make it easier for book cover art to be attainable for indie authors. We put a lot of work into writing our books, the cover should reflect that. You don't need to use AI, and if your book cover looks like it has been generated then it will seem like AI wrote the book too. Art should be by humans for humans.
